Key accountabilities
Drives technology decisions and direction within their product domain for FCC’s technologies, to ensure FCC’s initiatives and business results are realized

understands the infrastructure, data, security, frameworks and development environment relevant to their product
-
leads the technologies within their product area and how they integrate across FCC’s technology landscape and how it is leveraged by FCC’s business processes
-
leads the adoption and implementation of technology supporting FCC business initiatives
-
understands FCC’s business initiatives and provides appropriate technology solutions within their specific product area
-
collaborates across IT’s architecture domains to ensure architecture decisions are aligned with IT’s architectural principles
-
understands FCC’s business initiatives and the direction of the IT industry to develop and execute the delivery of FCC’s technologies
Develops, implements and oversees technologies and frameworks
-
implements technologies for developers to leverage to create solutions (frameworks, integrations and design patterns for areas like authentication)
-
oversees development and performs code reviews to ensure technology solution outcomes are realized and standards and principles are adhered to
-
coaches and guides developers and development teams with respect to technology
Manages product health and risk
-
ensures the stability and longevity of FCC’s solutions by identifying and driving technology actions and initiatives
-
identifies and implements the security, privacy and controls for the technical solutions within their relevant product
-
ensures the stability and performance of FCC’s technology solutions by identifying issues and driving actions and initiatives accordingly
Decision making authority

makes decisions to select and implement technologies and approaches related to the product to achieve FCC’s business initiatives
-
makes technology decisions (including owning the RFP decision)
-
makes impactful risk/opportunity technology decisions in accordance with FCC’s risk appetite to support FCC’s business operations and initiatives

makes decisions on the most effective way to deliver, maintain and secure the product technologies
-
makes decisions about the design and implementation of FCC’s technology solutions
-
makes architecture decisions that align with the technology industry and enables FCC’s business initiatives

Knowledge and skill
The work requires:

knowledge of the organization and its business practices as well as the technologies used to enable them

expert in information technology delivery practices and processes

ability to coach, mentor, and motivate others
Knowledge is generally acquired by having completed:
-
bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering
-
7 years of experience
-
or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working conditions
-
Work is performed under normal office conditions with limited auditory strain consisting of normal office sounds
-
Visual requirements and exertion consist of up to four to five hours per day of computer use
-
Overnight travel of up to 15 days per year for stakeholder interaction, vendor management or training will be required.

Occasional efforts will be required outside of regular work hours

What you’ll need:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics or engineering and at least seven years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
